No.5 GALLERY

Staff Uniform, Insignia and Accoutrement
The Correctional Services Department (CSD) has always been committed to keeping pace with the times. Over the years, numerous reforms have been made to Hong Kong's correctional system in response to social developments. The No. 5 Gallery primarily displays the uniforms, insignia and accoutrements of correctional officers over the past decades, vividly showcasing different types of uniforms of different eras in three-dimensional holographic images, including the anti-riot outfit of male correctional officers and the uniform of female staff working in training and detention centres in the past, etc., hence enabling visitors to witness the changes of the times. Staff training is also a top priority of the CSD. By displaying past training equipment such as batons, pacing sticks and swords, the growth and dedication of previous generations of correctional officers are presented to the public. A commemorative board is also erected in the gallery to pay the highest respect and condolences to correctional officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
