Dog Adoption Programme
The Correctional Services Dog Unit (CSDU) is inviting members of the public to adopt working dogs from our unit through our “Dog Adoption Programme”. We sincerely hope that those working dogs could spend the rest of their lives with loving families in comfortable homes after years of hard work, loyal and dedicated service. Applicants should take note of the following:-
- Applicants should reach the age of 21;
- The housing management of the residence permits to keep dog;
- Condition of the residence is suitable for keeping dog with sufficient space for the dog to move about;
- The daily routine and diet of working dogs may be different from pet dogs;
- The dog being adopted must not be used for any work or commercial activities.
Members of the public who are interested in adopting our dogs as pets could submit their duly completed application form at http://www.csd.gov.hk/images/doc/pub/Dog_AdoptProgram.pdf to the unit, by fax to 2899 0327 or by mail to Correctional Services Dog Unit, 99 Tung Tau Wan Road, Stanley, Hong Kong. After submitting the application forms, applicants will receive a reference number and detailed arrangement through their addresses provided for future correspondence.
For dogs without suitable adoptor, they will continue to stay at our kennel of the Dog Unit until the end of their life cycle.
