Correctional officers stop fighting among persons in custody

     Correctional Services officers stopped four persons in custody fighting in Hei Ling Chau Correctional Institution yesterday (March 28).

     At about 9.25pm, four male persons in custody, aged 28, 31, 39 and 49 were found fighting inside their dormitory because of trivial matter. On-duty officers immediately shouted to stop them and called for reinforcement. Upon arrival, reinforcement staff put the scene under control and separated them.

     Two persons in custody sustained minor injuries during the incident. They were treated in the centre hospital. The case has been reported to the Police for further investigation.

     The four persons in custody involved were convicted of dangerous drugs related offences, and offences of burglary and remaining in Hong Kong unlawfully.
