A sick male person in custody from Pak Sha Wan Correctional Institution died in a public hospital today (April 11).
The 48-year-old person in custody suffered from liver cancer and required regular follow-up and treatment in public hospital. He was sent to a public hospital for treatment on April 9 when his condition deteriorated. He was certified dead at 1.45pm today.
The case has been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.
The person in custody was sentenced to imprisonment for an offence of trafficking in dangerous drugs.
