Sick person in custody dies in public hospital

     A sick male person in custody from Tai Lam Correctional Institution died in a public hospital today (June 27).

     The 56-year-old person in custody suffered from carcinoma of the pancreas and was sent to a public hospital for treatment on June 14 when his condition deteriorated. He was certified dead at 6.17am today.

     The case has been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.

     The person in custody was sentenced to imprisonment for theft.
