Correctional officers stop person in custody assaulting another person in custody

     Correctional Services officers stopped a female person in custody from assaulting another female person in custody at Lo Wu Correctional Institution yesterday (November 9).

     At 10.54pm, a 37-year-old person in custody used a ballpoint pen to attack another 42-year-old person in custody inside the dormitory. The patrol officers immediately stopped the assault and referred the assailant and victim to the centre hospital for medical examination. The victim sustained minor injuries on the head and arm but was not required to be sent to an outside hospital. The assailant did not have any injury.

     The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.

     The assailant was sentenced for an offence of conspiracy to defraud. The victim was sentenced for the offence of theft.
