Correctional Services officers stopped a person in custody assaulting another person in custody at Shek Pik Prison today (November 9).
At 8.48am, a 30-year-old male person in custody suddenly attacked a 24-year-old male person in custody in the workshop. The staff on duty immediately stopped the assault and called for reinforcements.
The victim sustained injuries to his head and neck. After treatment by the medical officer, he was transferred to a public hospital for further treatment. The assailant sustained minor injuries. He did not require to be sent to public hospital after being treated by the medical officer.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The assailant was sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
