The Correctional Services Department (CSD) published its 2016 Annual Review today (May 23). The publication reviews the department's custody and rehabilitation work, which is aimed at protecting public safety and preventing crime. Members of the public may view the electronic book and printed copy on the CSD website.
Under the theme, "Rise to Challenges: Strive for Excellence", the Annual Review underlines the CSD's placing of great importance on the strict enforcement of discipline and order in its correctional facilities. The CSD has adopted a nip-in-the-bud and zero-tolerance strategy with a view to providing a safe and secure custodial environment for the protection of public safety and provision of appropriate rehabilitation programmes for persons in custody.
On community education, the CSD promotes to students and young people the importance of leading a law-abiding and drug-free life as well as supporting rehabilitation through the Rehabilitation Pioneer Project, which includes "The Reflective Path" and other relevant programmes.
Members of the public are welcome to visit the CSD's website at www.csd.gov.hk/annualreview/2016/desktop/index.html to view the Annual Review. Visitors may watch video clips of the chapters through the video links or by scanning the QR codes of the printed copy.
