Correctional officers at Stanley Prison stopped a fight between two persons in custody this morning (September 22).
At 11.45am, a 31-year-old male person in custody fought with a 42-year-old male person in custody during exercise in the exercise yard. An officer at the scene immediately stopped the fight with the use of OC foam after repeated warnings were given in vain.
The 31-year-old person in custody sustained injuries to his face and arm while the other person in custody sustained face injuries. Both did not need to be transferred to a public hospital after receiving treatment from the medical officer in the institution hospital.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The two persons in custody were sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
