Correctional officers at Stanley Prison stopped a fight among persons in custody today (November 1).
At 8.30am today, four male persons in custody, aged 35 to 44, were found fighting in the football field. Officers at the scene immediately stopped the fight and called for reinforcement.
During the incident, one of them sustained injury to his eye and was transferred to a public hospital for further management after receiving treatment from the institution's Medical Officer. Another person in custody sustained minor injury to the bridge of his nose but did not need to be sent to a public hospital after receiving treatment. The other two did not sustain any injury.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
All the four persons in custody were sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
