Correctional officers at Shek Pik Prison stopped a fight among persons in custody today (February 1).
At 6.20pm, two male persons in custody, both aged 38, were found fighting in the toilet of a dayroom. Officers at the scene immediately stopped the fight and called for reinforcements.
The two persons in custody were escorted to the institution hospital for examination and treatment. One of them sustained an injury to his left eye and was transferred to a public hospital after receiving treatment from the institution Medical Officer. Another person in custody did not sustain any injury. The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
Both persons in custody were sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
