A sick 58-year-old male person in custody at Stanley Prison died in a public hospital yesterday (February 28).
He suffered from cancer and required continuous medical care and follow-up at the institution hospital and public hospitals. On February 22, he was sent to a public hospital for treatment due to a deteriorating physical condition. During hospitalisation, his condition further deteriorated and he was certified dead at 8.23pm yesterday.
The case has been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.
He was convicted for the offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug in August 2015.
