A 52-year-old female remand person in custody at Tai Lam Centre for Women was found unconscious and died in a public hospital this morning (October 26).
The remand person in custody suffered from cerebrovascular disease and hypertension and she required continuous medical care and follow-up at the institution hospital. At 7.46am this morning she experienced physical discomfort and was found to be unconscious during physical checking in institution hospital. First aid treatment was immediately applied and an ambulance was called to send the person in custody to a public hospital for further treatment. Her condition deteriorated and she was certified dead at 11.08am this morning.
The case has been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.
The remand person in custody was remanded for the offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug in September 2018.
