Correctional Services officers stopped a remand inmate from hurting himself in Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre today (June 16).
At about 1.05pm, the 40-year-old male inmate turned emotional when he was meeting a visitor in the visit room. He banged his head against the partition panel at the visit booth. Officers at scene immediately stopped him from further hurting himself.
The inmate, suffering from minor head injury, was treated at the centre hospital. He will be referred to clinical psychologist for further assessment.
The inmate was remanded for an offence of trafficking in dangerous drugs.
